My Fav Vegan Ramen Spot In Tokyo So Far

AFURI'S Vegan Ramen

So, I wanted to share one of my absolute favorite ramens spots in Tokyo called AFURI. I have now eaten at Afuri multiple times and at multiple locations and each time it was absolutely fantastic. Being vegetarian I always get the Vegan Ramen option and it has yet to disappoint.

They have about 10 locations in Tokyo which I've found super convenient when I'm running around the city and craving a healthy tasty meal. The most helpful locations so far have been Shibuya and Roppongi but they happen to be quite a few places. One thing to remember is that it is cash only and they have a very unique way of taking the order. You have to insert the bills into a machine, select what you would like and then a ticket pops out that you hand to the man behind the counter. You order everything for your meal at this machine, even drinks. You then take your place around the open kitchen in typical ramen dining style and wait for your items to arrive. I have sense found out that this is the way you order at a lot of Tokyo restaurants.

This Vegan Ramen dish is 1,450 yen which is around $13.19 US dollars. The dish consists of these silky medium sized noodles in a buttery tasting vegetable broth (butter is not used but you'll see what I mean) accompanied by carrots, zucchini, radish, sun-dried tomato and some greenery. One great thing I also like about this restaurant is that it is not just vegetarian so people like my husband who prefer meat-based dishes have fantastic options and I can still eat Vegan. While we were there my husband ordered the traditional Yuzu Shoyu Pork Ramen and a side dish or rice and pork which has quickly become his go-to order! The average meat eater has tons of ramen options to choose from here and they do only ofter one Vegan Ramen dish but I find it so phenomenal I don't mind the limited option. Maybe one day they will create more! I do plan to try other vegetarian and vegan ramen spots around Tokyo when I move there in March! Stay tuned for more!

I'll never forget these tasty noodles and broth!
